SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Two people rescued after crash

TWO people had to be rescued yesterday (Wednesday, February 3, 2016) after getting trapped in their vehicle following a crash near Chard.

Firefighters were called out at just after 6.30pm to the incident at Bishopswood where they discovered that one vehicle had left the road and into a hedge.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “There were two people within the vehicle – unharmed, but unable to release themselves from the vehicle.”

Officers used a winch to help get the casualties to safety and make the vehicle safe. Both occupants were checked by paramedics from the Ambulance Service.
