SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Two people taken to hospital after kitchen fire

TWO people were taken to hospital in the early hours of Christmas Eve (Thursday, December 24, 2015) suffering from smoke inhalation following a fire at a home.

The alarm was sounded at just before 3.30am and firefighters from Somerton, Castle Cary and Glastonbury attended the scene at a property in Manor Park, Keinton Mandeville.

On arrival they discovered a fire in the ground floor kitchen.

Although the firefighters dealt with the situation, the kitchen was severely damaged.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Two occupants of the property were transferred by ambulance to hospital suffering from slight smoke inhalation.”
