CHRISTMAS 2015: Santa Dash success at Yeovil Country Park

HO-HO-HO! Just under 200 runners dressed in red and white Father Christmas costumes turned out this morning (Sunday, December 13, 2015) for the annual Santa Dash in aid of St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice.

The annual event saw runners take part in the 4k run at Yeovil Country Park and was again excellently organised by the Yeovil Town Road Running Club and sponsored by Milsted Langdon.CHRISTMAS 2015: Santa Dash success at Yeovil Country Park

The Santa Dash contestants were blessed with dry conditions for the second successive year as they made their from Goldenstones leisure pool to Wyndham Hill and back again.

The actual “race” was immaterial with the most important aspect of the event being to raise as much money as possible for St Margaret’s.

But just for the record it was Thomas Richardson who finished first in a time of 15mins 53 seconds with Iain Elliott in second in 16mins 8 seconds. Matthew Quarterman was third in 16mins 45 secs. First female runner to finish was Kirsty Norman in a time of 17mins 27secs – who won the ladies race last year in a slower time of 19mins 42secs.

There were a total of 181 finishers.

Organisers would like to thank everyone for taking part and their support of the event which helps to raise much-needed funds for St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice.

Yeovil town crier Bruce Trigger was on hand to give the runners some support.
