SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES: Greenfylde pupils receive Guy Fawkes prize from Cottage Flowers

CHILDREN from Greenfylde First School visited Cottage Flowers in Ilminster on Monday (November 23, 2015) to receive a prize from well-known local florist Angie Blackwell.

Greenfylde won the recent Guy Fawkes making competition - sponsored by Cottage Flowers - which was held as part of the fireworks display and bonfire party hosted by Ilminster Town FC on Britten’s Field.

Angie was delighted to present the children with a book token at her florists in East   Street and congratulate headteacher Claire Oaten and acting deputy head Andrea Jones.

Paul Webber, of Ilminster Town FC and organiser extraordinaire of the bonfire party, was also present.

He said that the fireworks display had been a great success for a first-ever event and said that just under 1,000 people attended.
