Chairman of the Yeovil in Bloom Steering Group, Cllr Recardo, said: “Once again we are extremely pleased that we have won another Gold award along with the It’s Your Neighbourhood awards, all of which are very well deserved.

“Credit must go to those staff that grow and produce the flowers each year. Many surrounding towns and villages who also won awards, such as Sherborne and MilbornePort, purchase their display flowers from us and we are proud of that fact.

“The awards to all the It’s Your Neighbourhood winners will be presented at tomorrow’s (Saturday, September 26, 2015) Super Saturday event in Yeovil town centre and we look forward to celebrating our achievement with the people of Yeovil.

“We must thank the people of Yeovil who really get behind Yeovil in Bloom each year, endorsing what we do and supporting the floral displays on show. We receive many kind correspondences of praise through-out the year which are very pleasing to read”.

Last year, Yeovil in Bloom won Gold in the overall competition and was also awarded two Best Allotment awards, Silver Gilt in the Park awards and presented with eleven ‘It’s Your Neighbourhood’ awards.

This coming weekend, Yeovil Town Council will be holding its annual Super Saturday event in the town centre which will include the Flower and Gardeners’ Market and also the residents Yeovil in Bloom awards presentations.

The Yeovil in Bloom initiative is managed and funded by Yeovil Town Council, and delivered with the support of South Somerset District Council.
