LEISURE: Controlled anarchy - that's panto at the Octagon!

CONTROLLED anarchy will be returning to the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil soon when the cast and crew bring to life the forthcoming festive pantomime once more on stage.

Sleeping Beauty will be performed from Friday, December 4, 2015, to Sunday, January 3, 2016, in 49 fun-filled showed.

Tickets are already selling like hot cakes as Evolution Pantomimes, led by Emily Wood and Paul Hendy, look forward to transfix the Octagon audiences.

Paul said: “We are very excited to be working with the Octagon team and look forward to sharing our spectacular production of Sleeping Beauty with you.”

While audiences might think that pantomime is all about mayhem and on-stage hilarity – there is a certain seriousness to proceedings.

Panto dame Sam Rabone, who will be playing Nurse Nellie, said pantomime was very much like an “upside down swan” – madness on the surface, but calm underneath.

Co-producer Emily Wood described pantomime as “controlled anarchy” meaning that it might seem complete madness on the stage, but it is organised!

Cast and crew gathered at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil this morning (Thursday, September 17, 2015) for a photo-shoot to launch this year’s panto countdown, which was followed by lunch across the road at the Manor Hotel, one of the show’s sponsors this year.

To book your tickets call the Box Office on 01935-422884 or visit www.octagon-theatre.co.uk or pop into the Octagon Theatre.
