CLUBS AND SOCIETIES: More girls needed by Chard Guides

A RECRUITMENT drive has been launched to attract more girls to the Chard Guides youth group.

Guides, aged from ten to 13, take part in a wide range of exciting activities at their regular meetings and at special events or holidays.

Charlotte Rogers, of Chard Guides, said: “You can get involved in anything from adventure sports to performing arts, travel and taking part in community action projects. There are also opportunities for international camps.

“At Guides we do a lot of different things but cooking is one of our favourite activities! We also do badges, games, town trails, craft, dancing, drama and many more exciting things.”

Charlotte added: “We look forward to going to camp each year and here we get to try more adventurous things like climbing, abseiling, archery, kayaking, and day trips out to theme parks.”
