A FAMILY was left shocked this evening (Saturday, August 1, 2015) after youths shoved a lighted smoke bomb through the window of their home.

Dad John Woolmington said: “We’ve lived here for 12 years and never had a problem.

“Whoever done it pushed a smoke bomb through a little open window in the dining room and then closed it shut.

“They then shouted some obscenity and then ran away in the direction of WestfieldPark.

“We called the police, but they’d gone by the time there got there.”

Mr Woolmington’s two children, aged ten and 12, were left “very frightened” by the incident as were their three dogs.

News of the incident has already been reported on social media and there are names being touted about as to who the culprits might be.

Mr Woolmington said that although it may have been seen as some sort of prank – it had really shaken his children and was certainly "not funny."

He is to speak with police again early next week in a bid to identify those responsible.

Anyone with information can contact local police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.
