SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Proms in the Car Park in aid of St Margaret’s Hospice as village celebrates

THE Caravan Club of Great Britain Concert Band is helping to raise money this evening (Saturday, August 1, 2015) for St Margaret's Somerset Hospice with a Proms in the Car Park musical feast near Ilminster.

The band members have become regular visitors to the village of Seavington in recent years and they are keeping their fingers-crossed for dry weather this evening for their outdoors concert in the car park of the village playing field, community shop and Millennium Hall; starting at 7pm.

The concert is one of the highlights of a week-long series of Seavington Celebrates events to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the playing field and fifth birthday of the community shop and café.

There was a Have a Field Day earlier today at the playing field with a number of activities, displays and refreshments for all the family to enjoy – including four-legged pooches with a dog agility course thanks to the Yeovil Agility Club.

Tomorrow (Sunday, August 2, 2015) there will be a Songs of Praise on the playing field at 11.30am followed by the opening of the Seavington ‘Access for All’ Footpath and bring-your-own picnic.
