SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Enjoy that Midsummer Experience in Ilminster

THE annual Ilminster Midsummer Experience is well and truly underway and - hopefully - the weather will stay kind.

The flags are flying and Ilminster is a picture of colour as IMEX enjoys another fun-filled weekend of activities for all the family.

This year’s IMEX began yesterday (Friday, June 12, 2015) and runs through to Sunday (June 14, 2015) and it is a key event in the Ilminster diary, while it also proves to be a fantastic opportunity for people to visit and find out for themselves what the town has to offer.SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Enjoy that Midsummer Experience in Ilminster

Among the events being held will be a Food and Craft Market today (Saturday, June 13, 2015) with more than 30 stalls running down Silver Street in Ilminster. Silver Street has been made totally pedestrian only for the day to make it safe for people to enjoy the large variety of stalls.

Over the past few years a major part of the IMEX has been the market and local charities and good causes have taken a FREE pitch in the pathway at Greenfylde First School to raise awareness about themselves and perhaps raise some money.

That is happening again today (Saturday, June 13, 2015) up until 3pm and there will be a whole host of local organisations and groups on show.

A Strolling Garage Sale will be held tomorrow (Sunday, June 14, 2015) where people can wander around Ilminster and pick up some bargains.

Garage-strollers will be able to download and print out a copy of the map for free or look out for the maps in shops. The map will cost 50p.

There is so much going on this weekend that there will be something for everyone.
