SOMERSET NEWS: Woman punched and kicked to ground in street attack

POLICE are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted in an attempted robbery in Glastonbury.

It happened back on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, but the victim has only just been able to give officers full details.

At about 10.30pm the 54-year-old woman was walking alone along Magdalene Street towards the kebab shop.

As she crossed Heritage Court she was grabbed from behind, pulled to the ground and kicked and punched.

She believes two men and a woman were involved in the attack and that one tried to take her handbag. It’s thought her attackers made off in a vehicle.

PC Katie Moyse said: “This attack has left the woman with injuries to her face including a possibly fractured eye socket and blurred vision.

“I would appeal to anyone who can help our investigation to get in touch online or by calling 101, quoting reference 43021/15.”

Alternatively ring the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. They never ask your name or trace your call.
