LEISURE: Glorious weather for Dubs at the Mill VW Festival family fun

THERE has been plenty of family fun today (Saturday, May 16, 2015) at the first full day of the Dubs at the Mill Volkswagen Festival.

VW fans from across the region have been descending on the fourth festival held at Haselbury Mill organised by the Scrumpy Dubbers VW Club.

The festival has been blessed by fantastic weather today to enable the large crowds to enjoy the trade stands, craft stalls, and autojumble.

There have been lots for the younger visitors to do as well with children’s craft activities, circus skills and face painting.

Tonight there will be live music with the Skimmity Hitchers which will be backed by the VW fans who are staying overnight in their camper vans of all shapes and sizes.

The festival is open again tomorrow (Sunday, May 17, 2015) for day visitors with gates open at 9.30am. Admission is £5 for the over-14s.

This year’s festival has been given the theme of the Wild West Country and one group, the Mucky Dubbers, have created their own cowboy-style saloon on site.

Proceeds raised from this weekend’s festival will be donated to the Round Table Children’s Wish charity and Multiple Sclerosis.

The event is being sponsored by Heritage Automotive.
