LIVE MUSIC: UB40 rocks the house!

THE Westland leisure complex in Yeovil was packed last night (Thursday, May 14, 2015) with fans of UB40.

The band was there live in concert to perform some new material and some of their golden greats from years gone by such as Red Red Wine.

People who were at the concert were full of praise this morning on social media saying they had had such a great night.

One wrote: “What an amazing night watching UB40 – it was an excellent night all-round.”

Concert-goer Rob Lester told the Yeovil Press: “When they started playing their old classics, the place was rocking!”

UB40 was formed in Birmingham in 1978 and named after the unemployment benefit form. The band has gone on to have more than forty Top 40 hit singles and achieved sales of over 100million records.

It seems sad that nights like last night will soon be a thing of the past for Yeovil with the Westland leisure complex set to close at the end of September this year.
