PEDAL FROM PARIS 2015: Day 4 – Cyclists set to arrive back at Huish Park

CYCLISTS on the 241-mile charity bike ride from Paris to Yeovil will be returning home today (Sunday, May 3, 2015) where they should expect a triumphant welcome from family, friends and supporters.

The 100-strong team set off on Thursday morning from Yeovil’s twin town of Herblay, just outside of Paris, and have pedalled their way from France with a little help from a ferry across the English Channel to Portsmouth.

It is planned for the cyclists to arrive at Yeovil Town Football Club’s Huish Park stadium this afternoon at 2pm as part of a charity family fun day which will involve friendly football matches, a beer festival and music.

Following the arrival of the cyclists there will be a couple of youth matches taking place, followed by a Yeovil Town Ladies exhibition match from 3.15pm to 3.45pm.

There will then be a Tom White XI v Terry Cotton XI match between 4pm and 5pm featuring many well-known old YeovilTown players such as Warren Patmore, Ben Smith, Paul Terry, Colin Miles, Andy Lindegaard and Roy O’Brien.

The cyclists are hoping to raise thousands of pounds for the Yeovil Town Community Sports Trust, Cyclists Fighting Cancer and Cystic Fibrosis and people attending today’s activities at HuishPark will be able to add to the coffers.
