PEDAL FROM PARIS 2015: Day 3 – Please give generously to spur the cyclists on!

PEDAL FROM PARIS 2015: Day 3 – Please give generously to spur the cyclists on!

THE terribly sad news today (Saturday, May 2, 2015) of the death of the wife of footballer Rio Ferdinand brings it home that cancer has no favourites and can strike anybody of any age.

THE former England and Manchester United defender announced this morning that his wife, Rebecca, passed away last night after a short battle with cancer at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London at the age of just 34.

The news goes to show that cancer can attack people from all walks of life – young and old.

The team of cyclists who are pedalling 241-miles from Paris to Yeovil are now back on English soil and cycling from Portsmouth through the New Forest area to their last overnight stop of the four-day adventure before tomorrow's final leg back to South Somerset.

One of the charities they are supporting is the Cyclists Fighting Cancer organisation which supports children and young people living with cancer.PEDAL FROM PARIS 2015: Day 3 – Please give generously to spur the cyclists on!

The CFC charity enables those living with cancer across the UK to regain their physical fitness, strength and confidence by giving them new bikes, adapted trikes, tandems, other equipment and support.

The 100-plus team of cyclists are also raising money for the Yeovil Town Community Sports Trust and Cystic Fibrosis charity.

The cyclists all have their own individual Just Giving fundraising pages in which people can sponsor them.
