YEOVIL NEWS: Charity Spring Ball is a Funtasia-tastic night!

A FANTASTIC night of fun and fundraising was had during the eighth Charity Spring Ball hosted by Funtasia Entertainment Ltd at the Westland leisure centre in Yeovil.

Around 350 people converged on Westlands last night (Saturday, April 25, 2015) for the ball which included a three-course dinner, dancing to DT8, a charity auction, raffle and tombola with proceeds going to St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice and Yeovil Young Achievers Trust.

Russell and Louise Lee, of Funtasia, thanked everyone for their support of the ball once again – especially all the local businesses who donate prizes and book tables.

An auction, featuring a range of lots from barrels of beer, meals out, a mini spa day and the use of an executive box at Yeovil Town FC for a Glovers home match, was carried out under the excellent auctioneering skills of Simon Murray.

There was a silent auction and a raffle, while new for this year’s ball was an excellent and very popular tombola stand organised by Teresa Rendell. There was also a fun casino, photo booths, a rodeo bull and a saloon bar shootout.

As well as the live music with the superb band DT8, there was also dancing provided by well-known local DJ and compere Steve Carpenter.

All in all – there was just too much to do one night!

The previous seven Charity Spring Balls had amassed £76,000 for local charities with last year’s raising £13,000. It is expected that around same amount would have been raised last night for charity.
