SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Molten metal sparks fire at industrial premises
FIREFIGHTERS were called out to deal with a fire at an industrial foundry and offices in Chard.
The incident happened at just before 11.30am yesterday (Friday, April 24, 2014) at the premises in Beeching Close.
Two fire engines from Chard were mobilised and firefighters dealt with the incident which involved a fire within a furnace.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “The fire was caused by molten metal on plastic flooring.”
The spokesman added that the cause of the fire was accidental.
