EASTER 2015: More than 1,000 children converge on Yeovil Country Park

COUNTRYSIDE rangers and volunteers were amazed when more than 1,100 children attended an Easter Egg Hunt yesterday (Tuesday, March 31, 2015) at Yeovil Country Park.

Families took part in the fun-filled Easter Eggstravaganza between 10am and 2pm at the park better known locally as Ninesprings. They had to follow a special trail through the woods to find an Easter bunny and collect a prize.EASTER 2015: More than 1,000 children converge on Yeovil Country Park

Robin Mackay, chairman of the Friends of Yeovil Country Park, said: “We were extremely grateful to Crofton Stores who again donated over 600 Cadbury’s crème eggs for prizes.

“Their donation enabled the Friends to give a great prize to all those that took part in this fun trail around Yeovil Country Park and meant that the Friends could continue to fundraise for projects in the park.”

But volunteers had to dash out for extra supplies when they quickly realised that they were going to need lots more chocolate goodies to meet the demand.

A total of 1,150 children took part in the Easter Egg Trail.
