SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Have your say on the future of the district's leisure facilities

PEOPLE in South Somerset are being given the opportunity to have their say about leisure, play and youth facilities in the district.

South Somerset District Council’s community health and leisure team is inviting local councils, clubs, organisations, schools and members of the public to attend a series of consultation events in Castle Cary, Yeovil and Chard.

These meetings start tonight (Monday, March 30, 2015) at The Shambles at the Market House in Castle Cary from 7.30pm.

Further events will be held at SSDC’s main offices in Brympton Way, Yeovil, on Thursday, April 9, 2015, from 7.30pm and at the Guildhall in Fore Street, Chard, on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at 7pm.

The council’s community health and leisure manager, Lynda Pincombe, said: “These evenings aim to give all of our stakeholders an opportunity to shape our new strategy and, in turn, have a say on the way we deliver leisure, sport and play.

“We are encouraging as many people as possible to attend these events so that we can identify our customers key issues and also learn about how we can support them to achieve their individual and organisational goals.”

Anyone wanting to attend needs to email their name, organisation and the date they would like to attend to leisure@southsomerset.gov.uk or telephone 01935 462345. Places are limited to a maximum of two representatives per organisation.
