EASTER 2015: Free activities at Yeovil Recreation Centre

QUALIFIED coaches will invite young people to run, shoot and smash to their heart’s content when top drawer athletics, hockey and tennis coaching comes to Yeovil Recreation Centre during the Easter holidays.

Kids Go Free days will give budding Rory McIlroys the opportunity to try out the Mini Golf and Pitch & Putt courses on Mondays and Fridays while younger visitors are promised a goo-ey treat when they take part in the Easter Egg Hunt.

It is not all about sport though, little ones can create their own world when they explore the free adventure themed Flagship Playspace which includes tree house walkways with rope bridges and net tunnels, a shipwreck, a tyre swing, a zipline, a large sand pit and skull and snake themed tunnel slides.EASTER 2015: Free activities at Yeovil Recreation Centre

South Somerset District Council’s community health and leisure manager, Lynda Pincombe, said: “We have tried to offer a fun-packed programme of activities at Yeovil Recreation Centre which not only challenges young people to reach their sporting potential but also offers families plenty of opportunities to have great fun at low cost.

“Our links to Yeovil & Sherborne Hockey Club and Yeovil Olympiads Athletics Club mean that we offer year round opportunities for eight to 14-year-olds to take part in these sports as part of our popular Junior Athletics and Junior Hockey programmes. This will enable anyone taking part in activities over Easter to continue improving their skills in a welcoming environment.

“During the February half term our hockey and athletics coaching were fully subscribed so we would advise early booking to avoid disappointment.”
