SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Public meeting over 800 homes proposals

EAST Coker Parish Council will be hosting a public meeting tonight (Wednesday, March 25, 2015) to discuss proposals to build 800 new homes in the area.

Plans were submitted to South Somerset District Council earlier this month to go-ahead with the development at Keyford on Dorchester Road – to provide a natural extension to Yeovil itself albeit within the parish of East Coker.

The meeting takes place at 7pm in the village hall and will allow villagers to question the developer, John Bishop, and South Somerset District Council case officer Simon Fox.

The proposals from Keyford Landowners also include plans for 2.58 hectares of employment land, a neighbourhood centre, a 65-bed nursing/care home, community hall, health centre, children’s nursery, primary school, play areas and formal sports provision.
