YEOVIL NEWS: Speeding tickets dished out on Lysander Road

A NUMBER of people have been issued with speeding tickets as a result of action taken by police on one of Yeovil’s busiest roads.

Lysander Road, which runs along by the AgustaWestland factory site and the Morrisons store and McDonalds restaurant, has a 30mph speed limit.

But it was reported earlier this month that there has been an increase in vehicles being used in an anti-social manner and at excess speed in the Lysander Road area of Yeovil – especially during the night-time when the road is a lot quieter.

Police had said they would be increasing patrols and on Friday (March 20, 2015) officers carried out a number of stop-checks.

“A number of people have been issued with speeding tickets as a result,” said a police spokesman.
