YEOVIL NEWS: Getting on their bikes for Paris!

SUPPORTERS of the YTFC Get Pedalling event were in the Quedam Shopping Centre in Yeovil today (Saturday, February 28, 2015) to help raise awareness of their forthcoming adventure.

A team of riders will be cycling from Yeovil’s twin town of Herblay, which is near the French capital of Paris, back to Yeovil Town FC’s Huish Park stadium from Thursday, April 30, 2015, to Sunday, May 3, 2015 – a total of 386kms.

They will be raising money for three worthwhile charities – the Yeovil Town Community Sports Trust, Cyclists Fighting Cancer and the Cystic Fibrosis organisation.

The fundraising and awareness day today at the Quedam raised £260 and the team would like to thank everyone who donated. They would also like to thank the Fun Zone for the use of its “beat the goalkeeper” inflatable game.

The YTFC Get Pedalling marathon bike ride last year saw them cycle from Middlesbrough in the North-East of England down to Somerset and they raised a whopping £51,000 for Prostate Cancer UK, St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice and the Yeovil Town Community Sports Trust.

The cyclists would love to beat that total when the tackle the Paris-to-Yeovil ride.
