PANTO 2015: Aladdin at Combe St Nicholas

PANTO 2015: Aladdin at Combe St Nicholas

CLOVERLEAF Productions take to the stage tonight (Tuesday, February 10, 2015) in Combe St Nicholas for the opening performance of its 2015 pantomime – Aladdin.

Set in Old Peking, this traditional panto has all the ingredients for splendid entertainment, as Abanazar (John Attree) plans to use Aladdin (Sally Nex) to find the magic lamp that will give him unlimited powers.

The plot is helped along by Aladdin’s mother, the buxom Widow Twankey played by Bob Dunn and his daft brother Wishee Washee (Maggy Goodall).

All Aladdin really wants to do is marry Princess Mandarin (Abi Cousins) but her father, the Emperor (Neil Lane) is far too protective and commands her handmaiden So-Shy played by Helen Rose to guard her at all times.

When Aladdin actually kisses the princess, the Emperor gets the comic Chinese police on the case (Ruby Nex, Kelly Boyland and Martin Wale), and chaos ensues!  Abanazar takes advantage and tries to have his evil way but, of course, with pantomime there’s always a happy ending.

Aladdin runs from tonight (Tuesday, February 10, 2015) through to Friday (February 13, 2015) at 7.30pm and Saturday, February 14, 2015, at 2.30pm and 6.30pm in Combe St Nicholas village hall.
