The students had a lesson in making pizzas and enjoyed themselves immensely, making the dough, chopping the ingredients and then making their perfect toppings.

William said: “I love pizza! Mine looks like a face!” – with onions for earrings!”

Aine said: “I’ve had a great time. It’s my mum’s birthday today and I’m going to take my pizza home for her.”

Students from Milford have been coming to Westfield for the past few years, to make use of their food technology facilities.

“We’re really grateful to Westfield for inviting us to use their kitchens,” said Amy Bews, Head of Year Five.

“We do have our own kitchen back at Milford, but it’s quite small and only six children can use it at a time. It would take quite some time for all of our students to have a go!”

Students from primary schools across Yeovil will be visiting Westfield Academy later this month to watch the Westfield dancers perform.
