SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Twenty-five litres of milk spilt onto road

FIREFIGHTERS were called out this afternoon (Sunday, February 1, 2015) to deal with a large amount of milk being spilt onto a road in Chard.

Two fire engines from the town along with an environmental protection unit and support from Taunton were mobilised to the incident in East Street at just before 2.30pm.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman confirmed that about 25 litres of milk had spilt onto the road.

The spokesman added that no milk had gone into drains or the water course and that firefighters had mopped up the mess with “absorbent material.”
