SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Arsonists strike in Haselbury Plucknett

ARSONISTS are being blamed for setting two vehicles on fire last night (Saturday, January 31, 2015) near Yeovil.

The alarm was raised at just before midnight to the incident in Puddletown, Haselbury Plucknett, and two fire engines from Yeovil and Crewkerne were mobilised.

Crews found two vehicles well alight and close to properties with thatched roofs.

Thankfully the firefighters were able to deal with the vehicle fires without any damage to the nearby homes.

“Both vehicles were severely damaged by fire and this was found to be deliberate ignition,” said a spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
