YEOVIL NEWS: Man rescued from flat fire

ONE man had to be rescued from the window of a first-floor flat in Yeovil in the early hours of this morning (Friday, January 30, 2015) due to a fire.

Firefighters were mobilised to the incident at Brympton at just after 4.15am and used a ladder to rescue the man, believed to be in his 40s.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “The male suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital by ambulance.”

Three fire engines from Yeovil were sent out to deal with the incident at the flat in Alvington Fields, which is off of Bluebell Road.

Police also attended and an investigation is understood to be underway into the cause of the fire. Anyone with information can contact police on 101.
