SCHOOL NEWS: Oxbridge offers for Bruton girls

TWO Sixth Formers at Bruton School for Girls have been celebrating after receiving offers for university places from Oxford and Cambridge.

Maggie Kasprzak who is studying mathematics, biology, chemistry and French has been offered a place by Queen’s College, Oxford, to read biochemistry; whilst Magda Tyka, who is studying biology, chemistry and French, received an offer from Murray Edwards College, Cambridge, to read natural sciences.

Bruton School for Girls has built up a strong reputation for having a high proportion of girls studying sciences, maths and technology subjects at GCSE and A Level with 65% of girls currently studying sciences and maths in the Sixth Form.

Head of Sixth Form, Fiona Donaldson, said: “We are thrilled that Maggie and Magda’s hard work and dedication has been recognised

“They are fantastic role models for the younger students and they reflect the calibre of students who choose to study with us at Bruton.”
