YEOVIL NEWS: Burglar sent down
A MAN has been sentenced to 14 months imprisonment for a number of offences including two burglaries in Yeovil.
Lewis Coombes, 26, of no fixed abode, was sentenced during a hearing at Taunton Crown Court on Friday (December 5, 2014).
He broke into a flat on Clarence Street, Yeovil, in August and stole items, including foreign currency and a laptop, and then committed another burglary a month later when on court bail for the first offence. That time he stole ornaments and electrical goods.

Coombes was also sentenced for a number of shoplifting offences, and also for possession of a knife which was found on him when he was arrested on August 15, 2014.
Investigating officer PC Jim Card said: “A number of people from Yeovil have received custodial sentences in recent months for a spate of house burglaries in and around the town during the summer, and I’m pleased that Coombes is now added to the list.”
