SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Bruton hit and run latest – man released without charge

A MAN in his 40s, arrested in connection with the death of an 84-year-old man in Bruton following a hit and run incident, has been released without charge.

A woman in her 30s, who was arrested as part of the police investigation, was released without charge earlier this week.

Police enquiries are continuing.

The incident happened at about 8.35pm on Tuesday, October 14, 2014. The man, aged 84, was going to a local shop with his two dogs.

He was found lying in the road with serious head injuries shortly afterwards. Despite being given treatment at the scene he died later.
