SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Armed robbery at Chard shop

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an attempted armed robbery at a shop in Chard this morning (Wednesday, October 22, 2014).

A man went into the One Stop shop in Avishayes Road at about 10.20am and stood in the doorway.

He produced a knife and demanded staff hand over money. The employees refused and he left the store.

The offender was white and wearing dark clothing, His face was concealed except for his eyes and the bridge of his nose.

Investigating officer Det Con Chris Hawkins is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who saw a man running from the store, to come forward.
