YEOVIL NEWS: Flying the flag for town in Bristol Half Marathon

AROUND 50 members of the Yeovil Town Road Running Club flew the flag for the town on Sunday (September 21, 2014) at the Bristol Half Marathon.

Dave Tinsley was the first Yeovil club runner home in a time of 1:30:00 and first lady was Lauren May Price in 1:33:20.

A club spokesman said: “There were many Personal Bests out there and a very emotional Katie Brooks who ran all the way round without stopping.

“Well done to all – this club rocks!”

Around 10,000 people took part in the event which saw many raise money for charity.

The men’s race was won overall by Ben Siwa, of Uganda, in a time of 1:03:55.

Gladys Yator, of Kenya, won the women’s race in a time of 1:13:01.
