FOOTBALL: Chard Town maintain early promise

CHARD Town maintained their early season promise in Division One of the Toolstation Western League with a 3-1 victory over Calne Town on Saturday (September 13, 2014) at Zembard   Lane.

The points were gained with goals from Sam Clark, Oscar Latis and Nathan Warren.

It was a good comeback following a 4-3 defeat at Barnstaple Town on September 9 with the Robins’ goals coming from Andy Martin, Oscar Latis and Sam Clark.

It was their second successive 4-3 scoreline, but on Saturday, September 6, it had been Chard beating Wellington by that margin with goals from Oscar Latis (two), Nathan Warren and Sam Clark (penalty).

Chard are back in action tonight (Tuesday, September 16, 2014) with a game at Westbury United in a 7.45pm kick-off.

The Robins are currently seventh in the Division One table with 17 points from ten games played.
