EXAM RESULTS 2014: Yeovil College has served students well

STUDENTS have today (Thursday, August 14, 2014) been singing the praises of Yeovil College in helping them to gain the exam results they have wanted.

Sam Sargent, 18, of Martock, who joined Yeovil College from Stanchester Academy, said: “I got an A* in Biology and Bs in Maths and Physics.

“I’m going to the University of the West of England to train as an Aerospace Engineer.  My Dad did it at uni and got me into it too.

“I thought Yeovil College was really good.  The teachers are knowledgeable and offer loads of support.  I think all of them are or used to be examiners, so they know what they’re looking for and prepare us really well for the exams.”EXAM RESULTS 2014: Yeovil College has served students well

Jack Abbott, 18, of Yeovil, achieved A grade A Levels in Maths and Physics plus an A for his EPQ and a B in Further Maths.

Jack said: “Being at Yeovil College has been a very good experience.  I’d recommend it because of the enrichment and the facilities.

“The lecturers give you every opportunity to get the grades you need.  I want to go to university to study Maths, with a year in industry.  I think it would be useful and I’d be in a job that interests me, earning money and it can lead to permanent job offers.”

Matt Hayward, 18, of East Lambrook, combined a vocational qualification with A Levels to fit in with his career aims.

He said: “I got A in Maths, B in Physics and Distinction* Distinction* for my BTEC in Sport.  I wanted to do both courses because it included a coaching aspect, which fitted with going to do Sports Science at Bath University.

“I enjoyed Sport and was good at Maths and Physics, so this combined both.  Yeovil College and its staff were flexible and fitted in around me and what I wanted to do, which was great.  I’d recommend the college, it was very supportive with everything I did.”
