FAMILY FUN DAY: Lots going on at Ferne Animal Sanctuary

THERE will be plenty for people to see and do today (Wednesday, July 30, 2014) during a Family Fun Day at the Ferne Animal Sanctuary near Chard.

There will be craft and artisan stalls, children’s art activities, a bouncy castle and a ride on a miniature railway, plus fun games for youngsters.

There will also be displays from Karizma Majorettes and Sharandy’s Birds of Prey.

The family fun day at Ferne, which is at Wambrook, is always a major success and will take place from 11am to 4pm.

Even organiser Sharon Pavey said: “This event always attracts a huge crowd and is a fantastic day out for the whole family.”

Family tickets for the day are priced at just £5 for two adults and three children; £2 for a single adult and £1 for a single child.

Ferne Animal Sanctuary recently launched its £1m project New Digs for Dogs to build a new enhanced kennel block, improved grooming and veterinary care room, information hub, social unit, offices, reception and purpose built rehoming centre.

The site is home to more than 300 domestic animals, farm animals and birds.
