SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Neighbourhood Watch scheme plans in Ilminster
POLICE are looking to set up new Neighbourhood Watch schemes in the Ilminster area of South Somerset.
A number of schemes have already been formed in the town, but police are now looking to create more of the potentially crime-busting groups.
A police spokesman told the Yeovil Press: “This is a voluntary network of schemes where neighbours come together along with the police to build safe and friendly communities where crime and anti-social behaviour are less likely to happen.
“No one should feel afraid, vulnerable or isolated in the place where they live; it’s about looking out for each other, crossing barriers of age, race and class to create real communities that benefit everyone.”
Anyone interested in forming a scheme or would like more information – please contact Neighbourhood Watch administrator Lindsey Stone on 01823-363348.
Alternatively people can speak to one of the Ilminster police beat team – PC Andy Stuart, PCSO John Martin or PCSO Karen Pack.
