SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Robin & the Sherwood Hoodies!

VISITORS to Monteclefe Academy in Somerton were transported into the depths of Sherwood Forest for the school’s end of term production.

Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies involved the whole school and told the hilarious truth behind the legend of Robin Hood (William Parry).

When the evil Sheriff of Nottingham (Sam Parmenter) and his gormless guards threatened the villagers of Sherwood, feisty Maid Marion (Rosie Dennis) hired a band of freedom fighters for protection.

But when Robin and his Merry Men arrived, she soon discovered they were exactly what she had ordered!

This year’s Monteclefe production was dedicated to lunchtime supervisor Jenny Vincent and music teacher Val Miller who are retiring with Mrs Vincent having served for 26 years and Mrs Miller seven years.

A Monteclefe spokesman said: “We all wish them both a very happy, long and blessed retirement.”
