SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Tractor fire caught on camera

THIS was the scene which greeted South Somerset man Neil Wells as he was driving home last night (Monday, June 16, 2014).

Neil, who is well known in and around the Chard area for his amateur dramatics work with various groups, was on his way home to Combe St Nicholas when he came across this wall of flame blocking the road.

It turned out to be a tractor and two fire engines were mobilised to the scene at Combe at just before 11pm to deal with the incident.

Neil, who was on his way home following rehearsals with the Axminster Operatic Society and their forthcoming production of Jesus Christ Superstar, said: “I got there just after it had started and when the diesel tanks popped the hedges soon caught fire.”
