SOUTH SOMERSET NEWS: Fake notes doing the rounds
POLICE are warning traders and shoppers in South Somerset to be on the lookout for dodgy £10 notes which have been found to be circulating in the area.
Officers have used their social networking Twitter account to put out the advice today (Monday, June 16, 2014) after a batch of counterfeit £10 notes have been found in Crewkerne.
The Bank of England has said that it is important that police are contacted as soon as possible about all instances of counterfeit banknotes.
“They may be aware of other retailers and businesses in the local area who have also reported counterfeit notes,” said a spokesman.
