SOMERSET NEWS: Driver seriously injured as car hits wall

A WOMAN has been taken to hospital after a car hit a wall in Somerset.

The collision took place in the early hours of this morning (Friday, April 18, 2014) at around 12.45am on Wellington Road, Taunton.

A silver Renault Clio collided with a wall and left debris across the road.

A police spokesman said: “The driver was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital where she is being treated for serious injuries.”

The road was closed until around 8am while the emergency services dealt with the incident and police began an investigation into the circumstances of the collision.

The spokesman added: “Anyone who saw the collision or the vehicle being driven beforehand should contact the police’s investigation unit on 101.”
