Shiver me timbers! Pirates are heading for the Fleet Air Arm

Pirates are heading for the Fleet Air Arm

THE Pirates are heading for the Fleet Air Arm Museum at RNAS Yeovilton during the Somerset half-term school holidays.

Every day from Monday, February 11, to Friday, February 15, there will be some fearsome family activities on at the museum.

Children are encouraged to come in fancy dress. They will be shown how to draw a pirate map in ‘blood’ using a quill pen and make a variety of Pirate accessories including cutlasses, telescopes, hats and eye patches.

Cap’n Jack Sparrow lookalike and his scurvy shipmates will put on a stage show and sing-a-long and there’ll be lessons in learning to live and speak like a pirate!

Although the week is intended to be a lot of fun for the whole family, there will be a serious side too, with representatives from the Royal Navy’s 815 Squadron who will give a talk on the problem of modern day piracy.
