Here Come the Girls with the Bright Sparks

BRIGHT Sparks will be flying at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil as 60 sparkling personalities take to the stage to wow audiences with a medley of lively, thoughtful and toe tapping songs in an evening of  Girl Power.    Here Come the Girls with the Bright Sparks

The girls from rainbow, brownie, guide and ranger units from across Yeovil will be helped in their endeaver to create a fun evening for all by thirty fellow guiders who've created their costumes and built props.

Smooth set changes will be watched closely by director Debbie Soper when the cast move from their Fiveways rehearsal space to the theatre in a couple of weeks.

Debbie, a Guider with Queen Camel Guides and Yeovil Division Rangers loves a challenge and has been directing the show since it began life in the year 2000, giving over eight hundred girls and young women a chance to experience performing on stage to an audience.

Cast members come from across the division to take part as it's so much fun and open to all girls and women in girlguiding that have always wanted to tread the boards and sing on stage.

The cast always live up to their motto of ' thinking of others ' and donated £700 to the Forces Childrens Trust from the show's last performances in 2010.

This year they will distribute monies raised through a special concert with the HMS Heron Volunteer band and collections at the shows, between the Forces Children's Trust, Yeovil Opportunity Group and Riley's Wish.

Ruth Forbes, Yeovil Division Commissioner, said: "Being part of the cast and preparing to perform on stage has galvanized the dedication each girl has brought to the show, perfecting their delivery of song and dance routines over the past six months to give the audience a polished performance on the night. "
