Out and About: Railway in Wartime story

HERE is the first in a new series of features entitled Out and About in which Christine Jones Event Photography gives you a pictorial look at events from around the country.

If you fancy a weekend away next October then why not head for North Yorkshire - especially if you like dressing up and are interested in the Second World War?

The Railway in Wartime event is based around five communites on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway at Pickering, Levisham, Newtondale, Goatland, Grosmont and Whitby.

It is now 20 years since the inception of Railway in Wartime where people dress in period costume of the 1940s.

Christine Jones Event Photography was in Pickering yesterday (Saturday, October 13, 2012) where the streets were filled with people dressed in war uniforms, 1940s fashions, and children dressed as evacuees.

It is a sight to be seen - especially when you might bump into Sir Winston Churchill!
