Milsted Langdon gets ready for golf day in Yeovil

AWARD-WINNING chartered accountancy firm Milsted Langdon is swinging into action with its golf day challenge in Yeovil later this month.

The company has already been limbering up for the golf day when it swapped calculators for clubs at a golf challenge in Bristol.

Now in its third year, the challenge consisted of round-robin matches held over three days throughout the summer, culminating in a finals day at Bristol Golf Club at which the winners were presented with their prizes.

David Snart and David Goldberg, from Lloyds TSB in Bristol, took first prize, beating runners-up Dave Ferris and Mark Ebo, of Bristol-based property consultancy Edward Symmons, by just one point.

The prize-giving dinner was attended by 45 guests, who took part in a game of Heads and Tails, with proceeds going to St Peter’s Hospice, in Bristol.

A second golf challenge is also held in Yeovil each year, with this year’s Yeovil finals day taking place at Yeovil Golf Club on October 18.

Gary Salter, a partner at Milsted Langdon, said: “I would like to thank everyone who participated in what was yet another hugely successful golf challenge. This is now our third year and we anticipate that next year’s event will be even more popular.”

Milsted Langdon is no stranger to winning prizes itself, having scooped the Best Large Practice category at the AccountingWEB Practice Excellence Awards in both 2012 and 2011. The firm has also been shortlisted for the Mid-Tier Firm category at this year’s British Accountancy Awards, which take place in London on 21 November.
