An Evening for Isaac raises £8,500

A FUNDRAISING event at Westland Leisure Complex in Yeovil on Friday night has been hailed an amazing success by organisers with more than £8,500 being raised.

An Evening for Isaac was organised by staff at Yeovil-based Screwfix for young Isaac Flory who is currently receiving treatment for leukaemia in Bristol. His dad, Nick Flory, works at Screwfix.

Several hundred people attended the fun night at Westland and were entertained by bands Ship of Fools and The Disciples, while there was also an auction and raffle, plus casino to help boost funds.

Organisers, Kerry Jenkins and John Atkinson, writing on Facebook said: "An Evening for Isaac raised £8,500 for the Flory family.

"We really hope people enjoyed the night as much as we enjoyed organising it.

"More than anything though we hope that Isaac beats this and finally gets to go home for good soon."

More than £2,000 was raised on a prize raffle, while an auction amassed £2,100.

Kerry and John added: 'What an amazing result! Thanks to everyone who participated.

''Big thanks to Matt Tobin for hosting the event and making it a great success.''

Isaac's parents, who were not present at Friday's event, had a message read out thanking everyone for their support and kindness.
