Half a Sixpence opens at the Octagon

YEOVIL Amateur Operatic Society opened its latest production, Half a Sixpence, at the Octagon Theatre tonight (Tuesday, October 9, 2012) in Yeovil with Chris Holman (pictured) in the lead role of Arthur Kipps.

The show, under the watchful eye of director and choreographer Sheila Driver, sees Holman take the lead role of Kipps made so famous on the West End by the legendary Tommy Steele.

Musical director for the show is Matthew Holmes who leads the orchestra with well-known songs such as Half a Sixpence, All in the Cause of Economy and Flash, Bang, Wallop.

Performances are nightly at 7.30pm tomorrow (Wednesday), Thursday, Friday and Saturday (October 10-13) with a 2.30pm matinee on the Saturday as well.
